Royal Aero. Club Flying Certificates 1905-1926
ROYAL AERO CLUB FLYING CERTIFICATES - AERONAUTS and AVIATORS 1905-1926 on CD Rom
Excel Spreadsheet listing some 8584 British and Commonwealth Personnel, including serving Officers who were granted flying certificates by the Royal Aero Club, after successfully completing a series of tasks. Prior to 1917 it was a requirement that a Pilot has to have a Royal Aero Club Flying Training prior to being granted a commission in the Royal Flying Corps or Royal Naval Air Service. Many of those listed therefore saw service in the Aerial Forces during the First World War
Importantly this list specifically states which date the flying certificate was granted and the certificate number. It also identifies pilots who qualified as seaplane pilots - then called 'Hydroplanes.'

Royal Air Force List August 1918
ROYAL AIR FORCE - AIR FORCE LIST AUGUST 1918 - First World War on CD Rom
Excel Spreadsheet listing some 27,997 British and Commonwealth Officers serving in the Royal Air Force in August 1918. This listing identifies the duty or branch of the service they were in, i.e. Aeroplane Pilot, Administrative, Balloon Officers, Seaplane Pilot etc.
Importantly this list specifically states which pilots were aeroplane pilots and which were seaplane pilots - the April / May 1918 Air Force Lists confusingly categorised all Pilots as Aeroplane and Seaplane Pilots, when few had qualification to fly both types of aircraft.
